Pastry Heaven at the Angelina Tearoom

Apart from the world-famous African Hot Chocolate, the Angelina Tearoom is best known for their delectable selection of pastries. Among them is their signature pastry, the Mont-Blanc.

The Mont-Blanc has long been an esteemed dessert item, with its distinctive chestnut cream vermicelli top, crisp meringue, and light whipped cream. The Angelina Tearoom has boasted plenty of their other classic desserts as well. Among them are the Tarte Citron which is a sweet pastry with smooth lemon cream and candied lemon. The Succès Noisette is another popular choice. This features a hazelnut dacquoise biscuit with pure sea salt, smothered with whipped hazelnut cream, and topped with a crunchy praline heart.

While the Angelina classics will always be favored, some of their newer pastry selections have quickly gained praise as well. Not surprisingly, the Mont-Blanc Speculoos has become one of the tearoom favorites. This version of the original Mont-Blanc is enhanced by a speculoos heart and speculoos shreds. The Délice Framboise-Pistache is also a delightful option. It is made of pistachio cream layered between a crunchy pistachio biscuit and an almond biscuit. All of that is topped with a generous layer of raspberry mouse and fresh raspberry. Although less colorful, the Merveille Nougat-Fruits des Bois may be the most magnificent choice. This chic pastry is easy to love with its crisp meringue, nougat mousse, blackberry and blackcurrant heart. All of that is topped by light whipped cream, and ground roasted almonds.

No matter your preference, it will surely pair very well with the hot chocolate. With a cup of rich hot chocolate and a serving of any of the beautiful pastries, your Angelina Tea House experience will be divine.

Experience Brunch at the Angelina Tea House

The century-old Angelina Tea House is in a beautiful spot on rue de Rivoli. It is right across the Jardin des Tuileries where arcades house some quintessentially French boutiques. For tourists, the location is perfect because it is a short, pleasant stroll from some of Paris’ great destinations. In one direction, it is steps away from the Place de la Concorde which would eventually lead to the Avenue des Champs-Elysees. In the other, a few minutes’ walk would lead to the Arc de Triomphe and then to the MusĂ©e du Louvre.

A visit to any of these Paris must-sees should lead you to the Angelina Tearoom at some point. The teahouse has something delightful to offer at any time of the day. However, our favorite would be brunch. For 39,50€, you can enjoy the brunch set which includes both a hot and cold beverage, assorted bread and pastries, a main dish, and a side dish. You can’t go wrong with any of the options but here’s the combination we love:

For the hot beverage, order the Angelina Hot Chocolate. There’s no question about that. That’s the only option you should consider. For the cold beverage, try something different and go for the Healthy Cocktail which is made of fresh orange, carrot, and ginger. The mini viennoiseries and the bread rolls are all lovely, especially with the crème de marrons. Then, have the Eggs Benedict with Avocado and the Caramelized pain perdu style brioche. Bon appetit!
